Hitting the Road II: Basel

Becka Barker July 8, 2019

So it turns out Basel is but a twisty train ride away from Annecy, so I hopped on the Golden Pass line and decided to pay my pal Kasia a visit for a couple days and take in some of Art Basel (mostly Unlimited). And as luck would have it, I also got to take in the William Kentridge exhibition A Poem That is Not Our Own at KunstMuseum Gegenwart. One of my heroes!

Above: Martha Wilson delivering hard truth about social media 45 years ago at Art Basel Unlimited; a conversation on the legacy of Jonas Mekas with (L to R) Maxa Zoller, Michel Auder, Lolita Jablonskiené, and Douglas Gordon (shown here doing his impression of Mekas); spending a day soaking in the genius of William Kentridge at KunstMuseum Gegenwart.
